Year 6

Year 4 and 5 have weekly lessons in half classes to learn to play stringed instruments as part of an orchestra supported by Herts Music Service. Throughout the year, the children then share their skills with parents as part of a music concert. 

Year 3 also learn to play a recorder in small groups using musical notation.  The children have an opportunity to play percussion instruments as well as developing their singing voices and composing skills.

Those interested in music have performed in concerts in school and the choir has performed at local public events. We arrange instrumental music lessons individually or in groups at subsidised rates. At present children can learn to play the recorder, keyboard, clarinet, cello, accordion, brass, guitar and violin. Other instruments are also available.

Our school orchestra plays each Friday morning from 8am.
