BSSP Level 2 KS2 Gymnastics
Boys and girls from years 3 and 4 joined 12 other schools at the level 2 Gymnastics competition.  All the children who took part were amazing at this very competitive event.  Our amazing team managed to finish second overall with less than 1 point between them and the final winners.  Well done team.

BSSP Level 2 KS1 Keysteps
A mixture of year 1 and 2 children went off to represent their school at Stortford Gymnastics.  The children performed their routines and finished in a brilliant 3rd place.  An amazing achievement.

January BSSP Level2 Indoor Athletics
16 children from years 5 and 6 represented the school at a very noisy and competitive indoor athletics events.  A mixture of field events took place first with some amazing scores achieved.  After these were completed the track events took place.  All the children ran amazingly well and there was lots of encouragement from the team members.

West Ham Primary Schools Football Tournament
8 boys from year 5 and 6 represented the school at the West Ham tournament in Brentwood on a very cold day.  The boys played in a pool of 5 teams playing each team twice.  The boys had a great time and played some good games.

Level 2 Rapid Fire Cricket Tournament 28 November
8 children from year 4 went to the HECC centre to play in the rapid fire cricket tournament. In the cricket tournament we had three balls on three cones. Two people had to come out and hit the balls hoping to score an extra four runs if we got the ball through the cones. Two of our team got the highest score with 24 runs and we were helped by sports leaders from Birchwood; who were really helpful! We finished second in our group but we went through as the best runner up because we scored the most runs. We played really well and managed to win our semi-final. We lost to Windhill in the final but we had a good day and all enjoyed ourselves!

Leventhorpe Tag rugby Tournament
On the 6th December, 10 year 6’s were chosen to go to a tag-rugby tournament at Leventhorpe Secondary School. There were seven other schools competing with us. Our first match was against Little Haddam.
We won 2-0, we were off to a great start! Unfortunately, we lost our next three games. But then, we faced Mandeville. We won it easily. 4-0. Finally, we played Sheering. Which in the end was a 1 all draw.
Everyone really enjoyed the day and had loads of fun. Overall we ended up coming in third place behind Reedings and St.Andrews

Boys High Cross Country
This annual event was very well supported by the local primary schools with teams from Year 4, 5, and 6. All of the year groups performed amazingly, showing great resilience and determination.  A special mention must go to Year 4 who came straight out of the swimming pool to compete.
Well done

BSSP Level 2 Basketball Tournament
One squad of Year 6 children went off to play Basketball at a very competitive tournament.  They played the first game with caution but soon got involved in the physical games.  They all really enjoyed the afternoon and now have a better understanding of the game.

BSSP Level 2 Quicksticks Tournament
A cold start to the day didn’t put our Year 6 off attending the Quicksticks tournament.  We fielded three teams and each team managed to play at least three matches.  The children played with great enthusiasm and team work.  Each team had to defend against some very strong teams and work hard to keep up with play.  The B team scored some amazing goals enabling them to get through to and winning the Plate.  It was great to watch all the children have a fantastic morning, growing in confidence and cheering each other on.
Well done Year 6.

Leventhorpe Cross Country
Our first event for the year was very well represented with enthusiastic children from KS2.  Boys and girls both ran together in the cross country event around Leventhorpe field against the other local primary feeder schools.
We are really proud of the determination shown by our children with great teamwork, resilience and true sportsmanship.  Their combined efforts made sure that the team finished in second place overall.
This was a fantastic event to watch and very well organised by Leventhorpe staff and sports leaders.
