Updates on the National Education Nature Park/RHS Grant

We are delighted to share that Phases 1 and 2 of our KS1 garden redevelopment are now complete. A huge thank you to everyone involved for their hard work, creativity, and determination in transforming what was once a neglected, collapsed bed into a real show‑stopper.

Phase 1 focused on clearing the space and preparing the area for a fresh start.

Phase 2 saw the rebuilding of the raised flower beds, creating a safer, more inviting environment for our KS1 pupils to enjoy hands‑on planting as part of their science and cross‑curricular learning.

We are now moving into Phase 3, where planting will begin. Our aim is to bring colour, life, and biodiversity to the area—turning a previously grey corner of the school into a vibrant green space. KS1 pupils will take responsibility for two beds to maintain throughout the year, with two additional beds available for their own planting projects.

Our Tyre Construction Area

This summer, we developed a dynamic play area with tyres set in soft mulch and a variety of loose construction materials. Children can now build, balance, and explore—developing engineering skills, physical confidence, and imagination through joyful, hands-on play - and just have lots of fun!
