School Council
School Council/Pupil Voice
The School Council is supported by Mrs Saggers, our Key Stage 2 leader.
There is a school council display in the main entrance to remind everyone who our school council representatives are. On this board, there is a suggestion box, where children are free to write suggestions on ways to make our school an even happier place. We read suggestions at every meeting and record ideas and plan actions.
The school council collect the house points every week and organise our weekly house points announcements in assembly.
Our school regularly supports the following charities assisted by the Eco Council.
- Comic Relief - Red Nose Day
- The Royal British Legion - Poppy Appeal
- Children in Need
- Christmas Shoeboxes
The school community also support local charities and organisations through donations made during our Easter, Harvest and Christmas Services.
Sept 2018 - July 2019
We held a pupil voice where we asked all of the children for their ideas on what they would like to do to raise money for Children in Need this year. The majority voted to have a cake sale and wear non-school uniform. This year we raised an amazing £728!
School council attended the picture book awards at Bishops Stortford College and then feedback to the school during an assembly.
Our Yr6 school council representatives attended a town council meeting with other schools in the area, town council members and the Mayor of Sawbridgeworth. They are looking forward to working on a whole community project.

Christmas Shoe Box
Children and staff filled shoe boxes with gifts in support of Operation Christmas Child.
Children In Need

Red Nose Day
For red nose day we organised a whole school cake sale and made an amazing £392. The children also gave a donation to wear something red which amounted £363.50. In total we raised a fantastic £756.45.
Well done everyone for your generous contributions!
Samaritan's Purse - Operation Christmas Child
Classes filled shoe boxes with gifts in support of children living in war torn countries.
Children In Need
Our school raised £541.72 for Children In Need.
Sept 2014 - July 2015
Children in Need
For Children in Need day 2014, we decided to have a pyjama and onesie day to raise money. We made this decision because we asked all the school what they would like to do and wearing pyjamas or a onesie was the most popular choice.
Everyone really enjoyed the day and bought in £1 for the charity, this resulted in a great total of £212.25 for the well deserved charity.
Sept 2013 - July 2014
Pupil Voice
The school council planned a pupil voice day in April where the whole school separated into 8 groups to share their ideas on how the key stage 2 playground could be improved.
They then met with the PTA to tell them our ideas. Hopefully they can help us to make our playtimes better! We are looking forward to some changes being made!
Philippines Typhoon Appeal
We raised £283.21 which will helped to provide hope to some of the millions whose lives have been turned upside down by the devastation of Typhoon Haiyan.
Children in Need
We raised £401 by asking children to dress as a Superhero, Princess or Villain for the day. Everyone also enjoyed bringing in cakes and having a bake sale.
